“Cape daffodils break new ground with February blossom”

Not sure we have the data to say for sure that this is the earliest daffodil bloom ever, but this winter’s unusual warmth is certainly making its effects evident.


ORLEANS – Are they daft? Why else would splendid yellow daffodils rise up by the side of Rock Harbor Road, thumbing their noses at Old Man Winter? While daffodil absolutes are difficult to pin down, much like sea yarns, it is possible that a rare run of somewhat ridiculous weather has made the Orleans daffodils among the earliest to flower in Cape history.
